…with a personal note
2015 has been a year like no other! The first months were spend in South East Asia, exploring Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. An experience that I’ll keep with me for years to come and truly infected me with the travelers virus.
After returning home, work on the inaugural issue started with the launch of the first theme (BeLongIng). It was met with an incredible enthusiasm by storytellers from across the globe and I was blown away by the stories that were submitted. This was also the start of an emotional roller coaster that is still going like a bat out of hell. Even though making the launch issue has been an awesome experience from start to finish, there was a dark cloud covering LEM-HQ: a serious illness in my small family, with the worst possible outcome in August. I might be oversharing, but one of the few people who really knew how important this launch issue actually was and is, is no more. And she never saw it come to life.
Needless to say, the past couple of months have been insane. I learned a lot about myself, the people closest to me and how beautiful people, in general, can be! I am extremely humbled and excited to have created the launch issue, got it crowdfunded and am now (3 weeks after funding) shipping LEMagazine and LEMerchandise to the awesome backers who supported me.
There are no words that can describe the feeling of sending 280 magazines of my inaugural issue to 17 different countries. But I am not stopping here. I have some big plans for 2016 and I hope you will join me on this next adventure.
But first things first: I hope you will enjoy the inaugural issue of Let’s Explore Magazine and I want to thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart for the support. I can’t wait to see the magazine “in the wild”, so please tag your images with #LEM00.
#KeepExploring and in the meantime, enjoy some pics of the printing process of the launch issue below,
